Spring can be a little bit of everything – windy, rainy, warm, cool, sunny, and overcast – all in the same day. Dressing for this transitional type of weather is often a challenge, but it can also be fun. Jeans and boots, a comfortable shirt, and classic leather jacket are the types of wardrobe staples that can take you from morning ’till night in comfort and casual style.
We love to focus on clothes and accessories that stay with you; products and investments that get better the more you use them. We also like things that are designed and crafted in a way that lets them work seamlessly with your sense of style yet stand about a bit on their own.
This season, Timberland, along with British belt maker Denura, have teamed up with OTC to highlight some modern classics. The centerpiece of this collection is the Tenon Leather Bomber Jacket (above and throughout). It’s an updated and urban-cool take on the classic bomber, crafted from Italian leather, and built to last decades.
These Timberland Boot Company 6-Inch Lineman’s Boots (above) are a great way to bring a hand-crafted vintage feel to those warmer days when you still need some sturdy footwear. They are inspired by the early 1900s, when lineman climbing electrical poles needed boots that were rugged, tough, and abrasion resistant. This collection, from Timberland’s Made in the USA line, honors these workers with premium leather and distinctive well-worn detailing.
Lighter weight jeans can also carry you through these transitional months in comfort. These Squam Lake Linen Jeans (above) strike just right note; classic denim styling with a worn-in and well-used look and feel. The fabric (71 percent cotton / 29 percent linen) is soft and comfortable and looks like you’ve had them forever. Also, the lighter finish gives a nice break from the dark indigo trend of the past few years.
The jeans pair quite nicely with this Allendale River Poplin button down shirt (below). Lightweight and versatile, it’s a classic slim-fit blue plaid that can be worn casually with shorts or dressed up with some nice khakis.
We are also very excited to be working with British belt maker Denura (above). For more than 30 years they have been manufacturing leather accessories and belts in-house for a long list of internationally known fashion brands and designers.
Now, they are manufacturing their own line to the same exacting, yet surprisingly affordable, standards. Made in United Kingdom using the finest Italian and Spanish vegetable tanned leathers, these handcrafted belts come in an array of colors and several classic styles. Here, we showcase the appropriately named Men’s Jeans Belt.
Another footwear option from Timberland is their Adventure Cupsole Shoe. Also available in an equally cool chukka, these are a perfect fit for when sneakers are too casual but there’s no need to dress up. The leather sneaker/street shoe hybrid is coming into its own and these kicks have a unique modern yet old school vibe. To us, they feel like a grown-up version of your favorite knock around trainers from back in the day. One reviewer called them his ” urban boat shoe alternative.”
As you might be able to tell, these have already been around the block, and the parts of country, and we love them.
