Pants We Love: Mountain Khakis

Mountain Khakis Teton, Broadway Fit

We love khakis, let’s just get that out of the way.  And, Mountain Khakis, a mountain-inspired lifestyle apparel brand based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, make our favorite pair; the Teton model in Broadway fit.  If you haven’t heard of them, it’s understandable.  The brand is not too well known in trad circles, as it reflects a more rugged and outdoorsy lifestyle.

According to a recent survey by Mountain Khakis, more than 60 percent of respondents said that when it comes to bottoms, khakis make them feel most confident. “Where women go to the little black dress as a trusted style staple, men reach for their favorite khakis,” said Jen Taylor Muhr, creative director for Mountain Khakis, which some folks call the “Best Damn Khakis.”

Established in 2003, Mountain Khakis quickly became a staple in the wardrobe of everyone from ranch hands to golf pros.  OTC likes these khakis for a simple reason: they are comfortable, built to take all-out abuse, and have several signature features that make them stand out just enough.

The Broadway fit slims down the traditional model and provides a great urban silhouette that works in the office or the field.  Front pockets are angled and triple stitched, and the addition of a hidden right-hand on-seam pocket is a handy and unobtrusive option.  The gusseted crotch allows for active pursuits and the distinctive reinforced “mud flap” heel cuffs add functional style.

Let’s make this simple.  OTC loves these pants – we want more.
